2018 NBA Mock Draft

The 2018 NBA Draft is a very deep and talented class that we haven't seen in a while. Check out my mock below.
1) Suns – Deandre Ayton – Arizona
The Suns get their big man to play with Devin Booker and he can learn from Tyson Chandler to improve on the defensive end.

2) Kings –  Marvin Bagley III – Duke
In my opinion, leave it to the Kings to pass on Luka Doncic and select Marvin Bagley III with the second pick. The bright side for Sacramento is Bagley can learn from Zach Randolph, a left-handed PF just like Bagley. Bagley and De’Aaron Fox give the Kings a bright future as both players aren’t even old enough to drink yet.

3) Hawks – Luka Doncic – Slovenia
Atlanta get their man in Luka Doncic with the third pick. I could see them trading down if Doncic is off the board. Atlanta used the 19th pick last year to select John Collins and if the Hawks get Doncic that’s two years in a row with a slam dunk in the first round.

4) Grizzlies – Jaren Jackson Jr. – Michigan State
Memphis has been trying shop this pick with Chandler Parsons, who is set to make just under $50 million over the next two years. Whenever the Grizzlies make their pick they must decide between blowing up the roster and starting fresh or adding a key prospect to help them get back into the playoffs. Jaren Jackson Jr. is a player who can defend positions 1-5.

5) Mavericks – Mohamed Bamba – Texas
Dallas would have this pick submitted quickly if Mohamed Bamba falls to them. I think Mark Cuban passes on Michael Porter Jr. and finally gets his big man that he has desperately missed since Tyson Chandler left. What a bright future Dennis Smith Jr. and Mohamed Bamba have together in Dallas.

6) Magic – Trae Young – Oklahoma
Orlando really needs a starting PG, a playmaker, a scorer, and someone to help sell tickets. Selecting Trae Young here makes the most sense.

7) Bulls – Michael Porter Jr. – Missouri
Chicago has been rumored to really wanting Michael Porter Jr. The future would be bright for the Bulls as they would have Zach LaVine, Michael Porter Jr, and Lauri Markkanen. If your Chicago, at pick #7 this is well worth the risk.

8) Cavaliers – Collin Sexton – Alabama
Cleveland doesn’t know if LeBron James will resign or not, but that shouldn’t matter if the draft plays out this way. The Cavaliers need a scoring PG more than another other position so let’s rule out Kevin Knox and Wendall Carter Jr. The Cavaliers take the relentless Sexton over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

9) Knicks – Kevin Knox – Kentucky
New York had a workout with Kevin Knox and absolutely fell in love with the kid. Knox can score and will be a good playmaker while Kristaps Porzingis is out.

10) 76ers – Wendall Carter Jr. – Duke
Philadelphia gets an absolute steal with Wendall Carter Jr. This is a big man who gets compared to Al Horford. If Carter Jr can get the same three-point shooting training as Joel Embiid the big man duo can be very dangerous.

11) Hornets – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Kentucky
Charlotte lands a great replacement for Kemba Walker by drafting Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. A taller guard who can play PG or SG.

12) Clippers – Lonnie Walker – Miami FL
Los Angeles gets a scorer in Lonnie Walker and is a great addition to the Clippers backcourt who could be paired with Milos Teodosic.

13) Clippers – Mikal Bridges – Villanova
Los Angeles would get a solid two-way player in Mikal Bridges if he falls this far. It doesn’t sound like the 76ers will pass on Bridges with the 10th pick, but with Wendall Carter Jr. being available in this mock that changes things. Bridges feels like a perfect fit in Doc Rivers system.

14) Nuggets – Zhaire Smith – Texas Tech
Denver selects one of the younger prospects in the draft in Zhaire Smith. The Nuggets have quietly tried to model the Golden State Warriors with their roster. The Nuggets have built through the draft with guys like Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, and Nikola Jokic on franchise-friendly deals. Now they can draft Zhaire Smith at SF. Smith has great toughness, work ethic, and competitiveness that should fit well in Denver.

15) Wizards – Kevin Huerter – Maryland
16) Suns – Miles Bridges – Michigan State
17) Bucks – Dzanan Musa – Bosnia
18) Spurs – Troy Brown – Oregon
19) Hawks – Keita Bates-Diop – Ohio State
20) Timberwolves – Moritz Wagner – Michigan
21) Jazz – Aaron Holiday – UCLA
22) Bulls – Chandler Hutchison – Boise State
23) Pacers – Melvin Frazier – Tulane
24) Blazers – Robert Williams – Texas A&M
25) Lakers – Chimezie Metu – USC
26) 76ers – Grayson Allen – Duke
27) Celtics – Khyri Thomas – Creighton
28) Warriors – Donte DiVincenzo – Villanova
29) Nets – Omari Spellman – Villanova
30) Hawks – Josh Okogie – Georgia Tech
